Old Guard Shows Their Net Stupidity
In an embarrassing show of lack of knowledge, Japan has announced yet again that all its politicians are not allowed to use the internet to talk, pass information or advertise themselves across the internet in any way shape or form. They cannot even update any posted information that they might find about themselves, posted by others, on the internet.
The older politicians whom have little or no grasp of the Internet and its worldwide have restricted again by law decree the use of the internet.
This is in case it offers the younger politicians any advantage that they, the old guard of the political world couldn't make use of it as effectively.
While the rest of the world is advancing in the use of the internet, politicians being able to communicate with the public, ask them questions, tell them of their problems, etc, Japan has decided to take a step backwards in to the dark ages of the I.T. world. It's become an embarrassing position for Japan, seen once in other ways as the leading light of technology, to become backward in this fashion, as the rest of the world moves on using the internet to its full potential.
Some of the younger politicians are trying to fight the old guard position of the "no use" laws but they face a hard uphill battle. A battle that more than likely will only be won when the older politicians physically die off with their out of date ideas and ideologies!
Like everything else on this growing site, I'll keep you posted if there is any chance on this state sanctioned censorship.
